8 Months

Layla Grace, you are 8 months old! You’ve had a very busy month, and have been quite the trooper. Time is just a flying by, and you are growing, growing, growing! You are an absolute joy, little lady!

*You weigh close to 18lbs, and wear size 6-9 month clothes.
*You are as close to perfect when it comes to eating, and I hope that never changes! You will eat any and all fruits and veggies, and have perfected feeding yourself. In the last week you’ve tried lots of new things, as your interest in what we’re eating has hit an all time high! You tried and loved: Rotisserie Chicken, diced carrots and zucchini, turkey, watermelon, and yogurt.
*You eat 2-3 meals per day along with 5 nursing/bottle feeds.
*You still haven’t cut any teeth yet, but we’re waiting for several to come in all at once. You had a few rough weeks, and just haven’t been yourself. It’s very obvious that your mouth is hurting you.
*You’ve become a major momma’s girl. Teething plus recent traveling has intensified your attachment to me. I’m just soaking up the extra loves. J
*You can move all around now, but you prefer using your ‘roll maneuvers’ rather than crawling. You have started a little army crawling recently though.
*You met lots of Aunts/Uncles and cousins this month!
*You are sleeping much better, and seem to really love your bed lately. If we don’t get you right away in the morning/after naps you tend to talk yourself back to sleep.
*You are happiest when showing off your jumping techniques. Whether it be in your doorway jumper or in someone’s arms.
*When you get excited your legs and arms go a mile a minute. We love those little frog legs!
*You have some absolute ear piercing new sounds that you love to make. You’ve found your voice, and you want the world to know!
*We just got back from another week in Virginia. You were a trooper in the car, but I’m thankful that we won’t be taking any long car rides for several months!
*You are starting to copy our motions when we wave, pat the table, etc. We’re also working on signing “all done” and “more.”

I pray that you will always know just how much we love you!
