It Doesn't Take Much

It really doesn't take much to excite Eli. He gets excited over the funniest and strangest things sometimes. One thing that really gets him going is the band at high school football games. He cracks us up every time they start playing. Doesn't matter what he was doing before, he just drops it and starts dancing, clapping and acting a fool. This past Friday we went, and ended up finding a seat in the stands right in front of where the band sits.

When they weren't playing, he just stared at them with pure amazement in his eyes. I hate to be the barer of bad news, but there's no way his daddy will be encouraging joining any marching bands when he's old enough :)

He got so excited every time the crowd started cheering and the band started playing
He loves to be outside, therefore he loves going to football games. He really doesn't seem to mind the cold ones either.
His new thing is to get ahold of one of our cell phones, hold it up in front of his face and say cheeeeese!

I just love how he says the word cheese out of the side of his mouth. So cute!

We're off to Texas early Saturday morning. I'll be sure to report all about Eli's first time on an airplane. We're PRAYING that he surprises us, and is a super enjoyable traveler :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Cookie Monster

Just in case you've never had the pleasure of witnessing Eli eat an Oreo...these pictures are for you :) They make his father smile and cringe at the same time. I'm not quite as much of a neat-freak as my husband. I don't do dirt, but I handle dinner time messes perfectly fine. As long as the food stays on the tray, then I'm all game.

How could you possible say no to this?!

Another Oreo? SURE!

His lovely 'cheeeese' face!

He really doesn't get many chocolatey treats, but when he does, he sure does enjoy them :)

From His PaPa

We've been busy getting ready for our community yard sale tomorrow. We have one every 6 months and we still have so much stuff to sell. In the midst of going through boxes and attics, we found something extra special that we've been saving for Eli since before he was even born. My dad had so many cool antique cars and trucks, and we brought a few home with us one Christmas. Last night, we pulled out a race car that we just knew he would love.

He did in fact LOVE his car from PaPa! He loved it so much that he was absolutely heartbroken when it came time for bathtime and bedtime, because he couldn't bare the thought of leaving his car!

He was delighted to find it waiting for him first thing this morning :)

I just love that whenever I see this car it makes me think of my dad, and what a fun relationship he and Eli would have. I'm thankful that Eli will always have constant reminders of his PaPa in Heaven. He was such a neat man, and left some pretty great stories for his grandchildren to hear someday :)

On another note, I've been all into my new found craftiness lately. My newest love is chalkboard paint. Your options are endless, and the projects hardly cost a thing. So far, I've only had to purchase the paint itself and the chalk. Everything else I've had on hand. I've been wanting to add something new to Eli's room, and I knew I wanted to do a Bible verse on the wall. I have more picture frames than I know what to do with, and some of them are odd sizes that I'll never use. Frames like this are perfect for chalkboard paint.
I love this because I can change out the verse however often I want. We haven't decided where to hang it in his room yet. But I love how this frame turned out!
This was an old white frame that I've had forever. This is perfect for our kitchen, and I'll look forward to changing it up throughout the seasons and holidays.

I'm just getting started, I have so many decorating ideas I want to try out! We're just about to re-do our master bedroom, and I can't wait to work on this with my hubby. After 3 years, I'm glad to finally be getting around to it.
