Halloween 13'

Eli got to wear his costume to school this year, which he was very excited about! He told his classmates that he was a jet pilot just like his Uncle Matt. So sweet!

There were MANY suckers involved in getting Layla into her costume, and keeping her in it for a few hours. She wouldn't wear the hat, or the shoes, or the accessories. But she was still a cute pink poodle!

For the last 3 years, we've trick or treated with the Thomas family. Lots of candy & laughs!

The sucker queens!

October

One of my favorite months has come and gone in a flash...again! And here we are with another 80 degree November 1st day. After 6 years of living here, I'm still thrown off every Fall by the high temps. We've had a few sporadic cool days, but nothing consistent yet.

My mom came to spend a week with us mid-month, and granted us some much needed adult time! We were able to sneak away to Charleston for the day, to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. It was blissful - truly the perfect day!
We shopped a lot, ate at our favorite restaurants, and took a long carriage ride.
We left feeling refreshed, and ready to get back to our little ones. Mimi always does a great job of filling in whenever we're away. We're so thankful for her willingness to help.

We took my mom out to some of our favorite local spots. Downtown Bluffton is a happening place these days!
Layla loved having an extra playmate in the house!

We took the kids to a local pumpkin patch one afternoon, and shopping in Savannah another. We really fit in a lot of fun during this visit!

Insert heavy grunting noises. She was determined to carry this one to the car!

L won't sit still for long, and Eli was determined to get that sibling photo session over asap :).

Love this girl, and the teeny tiny bit of baby left!
 This pose kills me!

This little family is DISNEY bound in less than 48 hours. So ready to skip out on reality for a week and experience the magic through the eyes of our kiddos. Picture overload sure to follow!

Life Lately

We're doing what we do best every Fall, share germs! There's just nothing quite like the "back to school crud." Eli's on the tail end of Bronchitis, Layla hasn't felt well in over a week, and now Dan has it. If I escape this one, it will be a miracle! On the plus side...it's October!!! My favorite month of the year. Things are looking up already!

Can't go anywhere without that purse!
 Sweet boy!
 My sweeties before church.
I'm absolutely loving my mornings at home with Layla, especially since she loves to "help." :)
We've been trying out all kinds of fun Fall Pinterest inspired snacks. Eli made these!
This boy is SO eager to help in the kitchen. He has mastered the art of vegetable chopping.

A few weekends ago we traveled to Wilmington, NC to celebrate Laura & Matt, and attend their reception. They got married last month in the Turks & Caicos. Nana and Pop Pop kept Layla for the weekend, and Eli came with us. We loved our time with just him, and made such sweet memories! Our hotel was in Wrightsville Beach. We weren't there long, but Eli got his share of beach, pool & hot tub time!
This was literally 10 minutes after we arrived!
 My handsome boy!

I had two sweet dates that night!
Eli and Cindy sure do love their time together. They danced their hearts out!
 The bride and her dad.

Mimi and Eli enjoyed their cupcakes, that's for sure!
Dancin' fool! He asks daily if we can do the cha cha slide. Clearly, he got that from his father. Not!
Loved getting a few days with my favorite lady! We were even able to fit in a little shopping. Success!
My handsome date. Seems like just yesterday we were posing at our own reception, and here we are coming up on 6 years!

Happy, Happy, Happy!

It's no secret, Layla loves to sing and dance. It's also no secret that Nana will spend hours with her, doing just that! We had everyone over for dinner last weekend, and she was literally jumping for joy!

When she's happy and she knows it, her "neck" will surely show it. :)

She was so excited to show everybody her new bed. Nana had to test it out!
Always fun to have Nana & GG here for stories before bed!

First Day of Pre-K 4

School: First Baptist Bluffton - Sonshine Preschool
Teachers: Miss Sarah and Miss Christy
Favorite part of his day: Getting to bring his favorite stuffed animal, and time on the playground.
September 9, 2013
Eli's back at Sonshine Preschool this year. He'll be going Monday - Thursday each week, and staying for lunch on two days. He absolutely loves his time there, and has felt comfortable from day one. I'm thankful for how easy his transition into school has always been. I also know that he'll be well prepared for Kindergarten next year. He has two of the absolute sweetest teachers! I'm confident that he'll have a wonderful year!

A certain little sister was SO excited to pick him up! She walked right into his class yelling and waving "Hi Eli!!" over and over. It was sweet! I'm loving my quiet mornings at home with Layla, and the new routine that the Fall brings.
